Interesting article I read recently about ‘Glamour’. I liked reading this article as to me it was particularly pertinent to the Christmas consumerism going on at the moment. I have read many blogs about people frantically shopping for Christmas – parents who feel pressurised to by their 5 year old a tablet, families going into debt just to buy Christmas presents and so much more.
To me, this isn’t just disheartening because Christmas has lost its true meaning but also because instead of making the end of the year happy and relaxed, it is making people tense and worried.
And then back to this idea of Glamour and how we look up to these celebrities or dream jobs thinking ‘wouldn’t it be so easy to be a….’ or ‘i wish…’. But in fact we all know life is anything but easy. That is why these amazing celebrities we aspire to be like often get exposed about having secret drug addictions or deep depression.
Just a thought.
